There's an expression in Australia that's called 'Go Bush,' which means to get out of the city and relax. I try and 'go bush' to places where there's no cell reception.

Jag beklagar att jag inte har hört av mig med en rapport tidigare, alldenstund jag kom till Australien och Sydney för snart två veckor sedan. Men jag har varit ganska ”busy” och har bl.a. varit uppe i Blue Mountains och ”Go Bush.”

Nationalparken Blue Mountains med centralorten Katoomba ligger cirka 100 km våster om Sydney och finns numera på UNESCOs världsarvslista. Tog lokaltåget CityRail dit. 20 kr för pensionärer! (Med Pensioner Excursion Ticket kan man för ca 20 kr åka hur mycket tåg, buss är färja man vill under en dag. Till Newcastle i norr, Bahurst i väster och Wollonggong i söder. Eller ta en färja från Circular Quai till Manly eller någon av Sydneys många beacher.) Resan till Katoomba tar knappt två timmar. Naturen i Blå Bergen är hissnande vacker och mest känt är den sönderfotograferade klippformationen ”Three Sisters,” som tornar över Jamison Valley. Genom jorderosion har den mjuka sandstenen urholkats av vind, regn och floder. Över dalen ligger en blå dimma, som påstås bildats genom kondesation från den täta eukalyptusvegetationen i dalen. 

 

Jag stannade i Katoomba fyra da´r.

Dear readers,

I regret that I haven´t write a report earlier, inasmuch as I arrived Australia and Sydney almost two weeks ago. But I have been quite "busy" and have been visiting the Blue Mountains and "Go Bush."

Blue Mountains National Park and its "capital" Katoomba is located approximately 100 km west of Sydney and is now at UNESCO World Heritage Site. I took the local train, CityRail. A$ 2.50 for seniors! (With Pensioner Excursion Ticket one can for the price of A$ 2.50 travel as much train, bus and ferry you want in one day. From Newcastle in the north, to Bathurst in the west and Wollonggong in the south. Or take a ferry from Circular Quai to Manly or any of Sydney's many Beaches.) The journey to Katoomba takes just under two hours. Nature in the Blue Mountains are breathtaking beautiful and best known are the most photographed rock formation "Three Sisters," which towers over the Jamison Valley. Through erosion, the soft sandstone eroded by wind, rain, and rivers. Across the valley is a blue mist, which allegedly formed by kondesation from the dense eucalyptus vegetation in the valley.

 I stayed in Katoomba four days.
